How L & J Industries saves half an hour a day across quarry, concrete and civil
Watch the video below to hear from Linda Sonter, Accounts at L & J Industries.
In this video, Linda Sonter explains how Budgetly works across the three arms of the L & J Industries group: civil construction at L & J Industries, quarry materials at Kingaroy Quarry Supplies, and LJP Concrete, which supplies concrete to the South Burnett area using material from their own quarry. Before Budgetly, the accounts team relied on workers phoning in, and Linda would either pay with the company credit card or read out the card details over the phone. Operating in rural Queensland rather than Brisbane, that meant real delays getting parts and fuel out to crews.
Linda names three things that changed. Her team no longer has to interrupt managers to get spend approved, because crews can buy what they need while accounts keeps visibility over every transaction. Drivers filling up remotely use their Budgetly card as a debit card wherever they are. And the Xero integration closes the loop: workers assign spend to the job it belongs to, and the AI categorisation allocates it to the right project automatically. Card limits mean nobody can overextend. As the group adds more companies, Linda says keeping track of where the money goes has got easier rather than harder, and overall it saves her at least half an hour a day chasing people and allocating costs in Xero.
