250 words

Budgetly is an Australian B2B SaaS fintech building the real-time spend control category. We control how money leaves Australian SMEs by replacing reimbursements, shared cards, and manual approval workflows with one connected system: individual Visa debit cards for every employee, automated bill payments, receipt capture, and live budgets, all categorised and synced to Xero, MYOB, and QuickBooks in real time. Cards stop overspending before it starts; bill payments stop the late-fee bleed; receipts stop the month-end reconciliation crunch; live budgets stop the surprise at quarter-end. Together, they replace a stack of disconnected tools with a single control loop. Budgetly is built for finance teams at Australian SMEs with 20 to 200 employees, alongside operations leaders, team managers, and founders who need genuine visibility into where the money is going. Our customers span professional services, employment services, NDIS providers, civic and social services, mining, transport, and industrial sectors. Founded in 2019, Budgetly is a fully remote Australian company backed by local support and partners with hundreds of accounting and bookkeeping firms across the country. Our vision is to build a more resilient Australian economy by eliminating the overspending of small and medium-sized businesses. Our mission is eliminating the manual spend workflows that drain finance teams.

Writing about Budgetly

How to refer to Budgetly in copy, articles, and press. Stick to these and Budgetly reads consistently across surfaces.

Capitalisation

Always 'Budgetly'. Never BUDGETLY, never budgetly. The 'B' is always capitalised; the rest is lowercase.

Noun, not verb

Budgetly is a product name. It's not a verb. Write 'switch to Budgetly', not 'we Budgetly our spend'.

Spelling and dialect

Use Australian English. 'Categorise' not 'categorize'. 'Colour' not 'color'. 'Customise' not 'customize'.

Category

Spend management for Australian SMEs (SEO and discovery framing). Real-time spend control (differentiator framing). Avoid 'expense management software' as the lead descriptor in news writing — it understates the scope.

Currency and amounts

Always AUD. Show as $1,000 (no AUD prefix in body copy unless contrasting currencies). Use commas for thousands separators.

Audience phrasing

'Australian SMEs', or 'finance teams at Australian SMEs with 20 to 200 employees'. Avoid 'small businesses' as it's too broad and skews to micro-businesses.

Locale

Fully remote, Australia-wide. Default to AEST/AEDT for any time references.

Pronouns

First-person plural ('we', 'us', 'our') in marketing copy. Third-person ('Budgetly', 'the company') in press releases and formal writing.

Usage

Do's and don'ts

A few rules that protect the brand. Stick to these and your usage of Budgetly will look right alongside our own materials.

Do
  • Use approved logo files only — never alter, distort, redraw, or recreate them
  • Maintain minimum clear space around the logo of one logo width on all sides
  • Use the primary orange logo on white and light backgrounds
  • Use the reverse white logo on navy and dark backgrounds
  • Use the SVG wherever possible. It scales to any size without quality loss
Don't
  • Never recolour the logo to navy, green, or any non-brand colour
  • Never place the logo on the brand green background
  • Never adjust transparency, letter spacing, or proportions
  • Never place the logo over a busy photo without sufficient clear space
  • Never use the green colour as text on a white background — it fails accessibility contrast
